Goettl, a quality HVAC company serving the Las Vegas area, has offered some times and tricks to help keep pets cool in the hot summer days. Pets are suspectible to the dangers of heat even more so than people. Their tiny little bodies and tender paws can suffer serious burns and other heat related issues, if not taken of carefully.
Pavement conducts heat, so paws need to be limited to, if not avoided. Hold your own hands to the pavement for 10 seconds and if you can’t stand it, then it is not the best time for you to take them for a walk. And yes, even dogs need sunscreen. Short, light haired dogs are prone to sunburn, so make sure you apply sunscreen. Groomed hair can allow for the pet to feel more air and get better circulation. Water and shade are two essentials to any overheated pup. A creative way to keep them cool is a small doggie pool to wade in and splash around. Summer time also has its own type of chemicals. Fertilizer and antifreeze are very tempting to dogs, so they need to be kept out of reach. With these few summer safety tips, you can keep your pet cool and happy during those rough hot summer months.
Goettl AC was found in 1939 by the Goettl brothers. They came to Las Vegas in 1968, but left in 2007 due to the economic recession. Ken Goodrich purchased the company in 2013. He reopened the Las Vegas branch in 2016, bringing it back home. Evening service calls are just part of the job. Goodrich remembered those late night calls with his father and holding the flashlight to help him. Goodrich wanted to restore Goettl to its former glory and bring it back to its hometown of Las Vegas.
