Bumbles founder, Whitney Wolfe knows dating app business well, having started her career as a co-founder and VP of marketing of the dating giant Tinder. Two years later, after a breakup with Tinder co-founder Justin Mateen, Wolfe found herself embattled in a lawsuit with InterActive Corp, Tinder’s then parent company. Wolfe pointed to former coworkers, alleging sexual harassment and sex discrimination that stripped her of her co-founder title at Tinder. After this painful ordeal, Wolfe took some time to reflect on pain caused by the case and the step away from the tech world. The world had a different plan, however, when she received a call from the founder of Badoo, Andrey Andreev, about making creating a female centered dating app. Two years later Bumble is gaining 50 thousand users a day to a total over 20 million users. It’s on track to earn $150 million dollars in 2018, valuing the company at over $500 million dollars.
