Award Recipient Robert Ivy

Robert Ivy is the Executive Vice President as well as the Chief Executive Office of FAIA and he was recently recognized for this work with the Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is given out by a nonprofit organization called the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters. This was the first time the Polk Award was given to an architect.

Robert Ivy is known for his work on unique building designs and his work in the field of architecture. He works as the editor in chief of Architectural Record which is a magazine dedicated to everything architecture. The upcoming award in not the first for Robert Ivy. In 2010 receive the Master Architect Award by the fraternity Alpha Rho Chi. Robert Ivy also receive the Dean’s Medal from the University of Arkansas School of Architecture for his work.

Ivy is looking to make architecture accessible to the public and is looking to create an interest in not only his work but in the field. Many consider him to be an ambassador to the profession. He writes on the different designs and new techniques that are being used in the field. He is also a commentator on many different projects that are being designed all over the world and his opinion is trusted in the field.
